Hi, welcome to donnaslavendernest.  I am retired 50 something and happily married to my  high school sweetheart David (40 years) and we have one son Dillon.    We live in a small Texas town which I love.  Two precious dog's (Maltese) Dixie and Dolli.

I am a fabric hoarder and I have always loved sweet vintagey fabric's.  I used to love to sit and watch my grandmother sew when I was a little girl.   My grandmother is the one that got me interesting in sewing, crochet and embroidery.  I always took Home Ec in school just so I could sew.

In 1998 I taught myself how to piece quilts through quilt books and in 2002 I bought my first quilt machine and taught myself how to quilt the quilts I make . Today I love piecing quilts and putting the final touches on them.

 I have been quilting for about 18 years.  When I first started quilting I used a Brother sewing machine on a New Joy Frame,  I finally bought a HQ Avante' and I am so in love with her.
She is a dream machine.

I have created a couple of patterns they on my side bar.
